“…has created a sympathetic character in Josh, with whom children dealing with illness in their personal lives may identify…The novel sends positive messages about living with an illness and standing up for what’s right.”

Booklist

“This is an old fashioned sports story that delivers the basic message that fair play prevails over bullying. Josh’s diabetes adds another dimension to the conventional goings-on, however, and the detailed and accurate accounts of the rigorous practice sessions should win over many young fans of the sport.”
